Are you passionate about gaming, sports or travel? Are you keen to understand how data can be used and be the change in your own Pacific Island? Have you ever wanted to build your own business? At the 10th CASSINI Hackathon, you’re invited to develop solutions or services made for consumers. Success stories start here…
A regional edition of a European initiative
From 7–9 November, the University of New Caledonia with Data Terra will host the 10th Cassini Hackathon. A Pacific-wide edition of this European program. Local universities will act as hubs, building national teams and connecting innovators across the islands.
Over three days, participants receive expert guidance and access to EU space data: Copernicus, Galileo, and EGNOS — to design creative solutions for consumer experiences.
Led from New Caledonia with the University of New Caledonia (UNC) as local organizer, with the support of Data Terra, the 10th Cassini Hackathon is designed to bring together participants from across the Pacific Islands and to strengthen regional links and collaboration.
Your challenge? Pick one:
#1 Immersive gameplay with space technology and data. Use Galileo for precise positioning, Copernicus for real-world terrain and weather, and satellite connectivity for real-time updates. Create gameplay where science, adventure, and strategy meet.
#2 Space-powered performance - transforming sports. Apply GNSS to track athletes with accuracy, design adaptive training plans based on terrain and weather, or build AR apps giving fans real-time stats like altitude, wind speed, or live location.
#3 Beyond horizons: redefining travel with space innovation. Leverage satellite imagery and navigation for safer, sustainable travel. Help providers personalise trips or design immersive apps that connect travellers to Earth’s beauty — even remotely.
Collaborate, innovate, and connect with peers across the Pacific.
