As a participant, you’ll have access to invaluable tools, training and support throughout the hackathon. We’ll provide everything you need, so you can give your solution everything you’ve got.
We want to minimise the time you need to spend processing data. That’s why we’ve created a dedicated data cube for each hackathon. The data cube contains pre-processed Copernicus data and information about a specific geographical region and time period, focusing on the hackathon theme at hand. Find the data cube on the DIAS platform supporting that edition.
Access virtual storage and computational resources for the duration of the hackathon. The DIAS platform supporting each hackathon will enable you to discover, manipulate and download Copernicus data and information. You will also have all the processing power and storage you need to hack your way to success.
Improve the accuracy of your solution with access to the JASON platform during the hackathon. Supporting all hackathon teams, this platform provides a fully automatic PPK/PPP processing engine for precise location/navigation. Learn more about this tool accessible during the hackathon.
Still missing crucial data? We’ve got you covered. Take advantage of our code repository. Hackers are invited to share their code with the CASSINI Hackathon community on the open source platform, Github.
New to hackathons? No problem. We’ve prepared two playbooks that will allow you to make the most of your first hackathon experience. Access helpful tips on how to face challenges, where to go if you need support, and what tools you’ll be required to use throughout the event in the Participant Playbook. The Business Design Playbook guides you to discover, build and tap into business opportunities with your ideas.
Copernicus is the European Union’s Earth observation programme, looking at our planet and its environment to benefit all European citizens. It offers information services that draw from satellite Earth Observation and in-situ (non-space) data.
Galileo is Europe’s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), providing improved positioning and timing information with significant positive implications for many European services and users.
The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) is Europe’s regional satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) that is used to improve the performance of global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs).

Arrive at the hackathon feeling fully prepared by watching our on-demand training sessions provided by the CASSINI Hackathon experts and partners. Become a specialist on the DIAS platforms, master core business skills, or expand your knowledge – there’s something for everyone.
The forth edition of the CASSINI Hackathons & Mentoring is supported by the Sobloo DIAS by AIRBUS and JASON by Rokubun.
Sobloo was established to support the Copernicus programme by making data freely available to all users and non-discriminatory, through a cloud computing architecture. More Sobloo improves data access and facilitate data sharing between the companies on the market, including cross-fertilization.
Through Sobloo solution you'll get access to a development environment offering both the simplicity and the performance of today’s cloud technologies.
Rokubun is a Barcelona based company offering accurate and scalable navigation technologies beyond those based on the classical Global Navigation Satellite Systems. Rokubun is focused on the research and development of precise and innovative navigation solutions to meet the growing mass market needs for both affordable and accurate geolocation as part of a wider effort to democratise precise navigation for applications in fields such as consumer solutions, agriculture, autonomous driving, and drones.
JASON is a GNSS post-processing cloud service to get accurate location at affordable cost. It's a fully automatic PPK/PPP processing engine such that users are delivered precise location/navigation results in few clicks. JASON features an API for processing automation and integration in the pipeline of our users. JASON is plug-and-play compatible with main GNSS raw data standards. Use JASON to obtain precise navigation of your rover for drone applications, Location Based Services, smart agriculture, road and mobility and many others.
