Hack with a purpose at the CASSINI Hackathon Spain on 5-7 Nov 2021!
Leverage #EUSpace data & signals to understand and protect the Arctic region. Put your skills to the test and tackle one of the three challenges under the theme of Connecting the Arctic.

Join the CASSINI Hackathon Spain in Madrid and explore how EU Space data could be used to Connect the Arctic and protect its wildlife. This hackathon will be a hybrid event, so you can join in person or virtually!
Teams will be presented with 3 challenges which will test their creative skills and imagination from the very first brainstorm. They will use data from Copernicus, Galileo and EGNOS to imagine game-changing solutions and will win career-changing prizes along the way!
Win up to €1,000!
1st place at Spain’s Hackathon will receive €1,000 for the best idea.
2nd place will receive a prize of €500.
The winning team will also have the opportunity to visit the international company Thales Alenia Space and present their solution to the members of the company. In addition, a team chosen by Thales will receive mentoring from their experts, potentially leading to the development of a pilot within the company.
The top 3 teams across all hackathons will be awarded with an additional +100 hours of expert mentoring.

In Spain, this year’s Hackathon will be organised by BluSpecs – a digital transformation agency helping organisations, both public and private, remain relevant in the digital era. Their main focuses are grass-roots entrepreneurship, start-up acceleration and advanced digital technologies. Because of this, they are the perfect representatives for the Spanish region.
BluSpecs will be working with a team from the Port of Coruña for this event, who will provide a broad overview about the major problems Spanish Ports are facing and open up discussion about solutions to overcome the coastal erosion challenge.
The physical hackathon will be held at the Complutense University of Madrid. The university will provide all necessary resources, such as 24-hour access to its campuses.
