Join the Hackathon in Prague!
Interested in space technology? Learn how to utilise it and design a solution for a safer, stronger nation. The 8thCASSINI Hackathon provides training, mentoring, and inspiration to build your own solution and – maybe – be involved in your own space startup. Big ideas start inside the Hackathon…
Registration is free, and anyone can join – no experience necessary. Come along (in person or virtually) to hear from national experts in business and space technology. Watch our online training sessions and delve into the vault of EU space data from Copernicus, EGNOS and Galileo. Bring a team or join one, and develop a solution for one of three challenges:
- Enhancing Defence & Security with Geospatial Intelligence
- Unmanned Drone Applications for Defence & Security Operations
- Orbital Security: Navigating the Collision Frontier
Home to the European Union Agency for the Space Programme, Prague is already a world leader in space technology. If you want to become part of the sector, this is an unmissable opportunity to hear from Czech experts in defence and security.
The Hackathon will feature sessions on market trends in the space industry, utilisation of drones, satellite image classification methods, and business skills such as presentation. Join us in Prague between 22-24 November 2024 and discover the vast potential of EU space data.
Local Prizes
At the end of the local Hackathon on 24 November, each team has the opportunity to present their solution to our expert judging panel. Three winning teams will receive prizes to support and develop their ventures.
- First prize: €3,000
- Second prize: €1,000
- Third prize: €1,000
- All winners: mentoring at the ESA Business Incubator
Central Prizes
Additionally, the top three teams from all competing hackathons will receive a total of up to €9,000 in prizes in the European finals, taking place on 27 November!
- 1st place: €5,000
- 2nd place: €3,000
- 3rd place: €1,000
Mentoring
The top 3 teams across all competing hackathons will each be awarded an additional 100 hours of expert mentoring.
Space technology is leveraged by entrepreneurs all over the world. How can it be utilised in defence and security? Our experts will discuss the key challenges and provide valuable insights to help you design and develop your solution.
The Prague Innovation Institute supports new business every step of the way – from research and technology transfer to funding and launch. Building the local innovation ecosystem is a high priority and the PII works to foster connections between people and resources in space tech.
